First Look

Some exciting news in the Whole Wheat Treats world - We are planning on filming our first short film in over a year! Although I really wouldn't call it a short.. more like a 'medium."

We, being the filmologists that we are, are constantly viewing material that won or was selected for showing at both national and international film festivals. Basically, it is a good way of gauging what we are up against, and where we may need some improvement. Some of these films are incredible, and fully deserving of the recognition they receive at these festivals. Others... let's just say they make me think, "... seriously?"

In our never ending quest searching for investors and producers, we are well aware that often times short films are seen at festivals and chosen to be made into feature lengths after their potential has been displayed. We feel that "Black Coffee" is a flexible script that could easily be organized into a powerful short film. The movie itself is 3 main "acts," so to speak. We decided that it would be best to pick one of these three acts, rework it a bit, and use it as the basis for our newest short film project. Below is a little preview of the town where we will be filming. It isn't the exact location in the picture, but it captures the emotions of the film pretty well I think.

Upon completion of this project we intend to distribute it to the "Short Categories" in festivals all over the country, and maybe even some foreign festivals as well. Judging by some of what I have seen, I know that we have the creativity and ability to produce something that is genuinely interesting and worth watching. Assuming it is successful, at least at some of these festivals, it will provide a great launch pad to appeal to producers the kind of potential this film has at the feature-length level. If Paranormal Activity can pull in millions for filming some spooky scenes in nightvision, imagine what a film of substance could do! (No offense, Paranormal fans, lol.)
